{"id":3655,"date":"2023-03-23T15:04:37","date_gmt":"2023-03-23T14:04:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ibsasailing.com\/?page_id=3655"},"modified":"2025-01-24T17:43:08","modified_gmt":"2025-01-24T16:43:08","slug":"regattas","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.ibsasailing.com\/en\/regattas\/","title":{"rendered":"REGATTAS"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The <strong>nautical miles<\/strong> sailed by the Class40 <em>IBSA<\/em> <strong>over three years<\/strong>, excluding transfers, <strong>exceed 25,000<\/strong>: 3,500 in 2022, 15,000 in 2023, and 7,000 in 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The adventure began in 2022, when <strong>Alberto Bona<\/strong> \u2013 then a rookie in Class40 \u2013 participated in the <strong><em><u>Route du Rhum<\/u><\/em><\/strong> (a solo race), finishing eighth, just three months after his boat\u2019s launch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2023, the Class40 <em>IBSA<\/em> programme included six crewed races. In five of these competitions, Alberto was accompanied by <strong>Pablo Santurde del Arco<\/strong>, an experienced Spanish navigator in both Class40 and Olympic classes. Together, Alberto and Pablo formed a strong bond, winning the international class championship thanks to the sum of the results achieved during the season:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>two first places <strong><em>(<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ibsasailing.com\/en\/rorc-caribbean-600\/\">RORC Caribbean 600<\/a><\/em><\/strong> and <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ibsasailing.com\/en\/les-sables-horta-les-sables-2023\/\">Les Sables-Horta-Les Sables<\/a><\/em><\/strong>);<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>two third places (<strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ibsasailing.com\/en\/atlantic-challenge\/\">D\u00e9fi Atlantique<\/a><\/em><\/strong> and <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ibsasailing.com\/en\/transat-jacques-vabre\/\">Transat Jacques Vabre<\/a><\/em><\/strong>);<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>a sixth place (<strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ibsasailing.com\/en\/normandy-channel-race-2023\/\">Normandy Channel Race<\/a><\/em><\/strong>)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2024, Alberto chose to begin the season by returning to his roots with the Class40 in one of the most challenging solo ocean crossings in the sailing world: the <strong><em>Transat CIC<\/em><\/strong>, from Lorient (France) to New York.
