Code name: demoulding<\/strong>!<\/p>\n

Tuesday, June 21, was an important day for IBSA\u2019s project Sailing into the Future<\/em>. Together<\/em>. In the JPS shipyard in Trinit\u00e9-Sur-Mer, where the construction of IBSA Class40 is underway, the deck of the boat has come to life<\/strong>. After being removed from the mold, the deck \u2013 that is, the upper \u201cfloor\u201d of the boat \u2013 is now ready to be joined to the hull.<\/p>\n

The demoulding of the deck is a very important phase in the construction of the boat<\/strong>, and allows to see the features of the boat and some of the design choices made by Alberto and his team.<\/p>\n

The next steps include the completion of the structural part of the hull, on which the whole team is already working, and then the joining of the two elements: hull and deck<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

At that point, the detailed operations will begin, that will allow the boat to leave the yard by the end of July, to begin testing at sea.<\/p>\n

\u201cEverything is going very well<\/em>\u201d, commented Alberto Bona; \u201cIn a shipyard there are always moments when nothing seems to happen, and then in a few days all the progress made becomes evident. The demoulding of the deck is one of those moments. Seeing the boat taking shape piece by piece is a great thrill for our whole team.
