{"id":6331,"date":"2024-02-09T15:19:43","date_gmt":"2024-02-09T14:19:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ibsasailing.com\/?p=6331"},"modified":"2024-02-09T15:30:02","modified_gmt":"2024-02-09T14:30:02","slug":"the-official-award-ceremony-of-the-transat-jacques-vabre","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ibsasailing.com\/en\/the-official-award-ceremony-of-the-transat-jacques-vabre\/","title":{"rendered":"The official award ceremony of the Transat Jacques Vabre"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The <strong>awards ceremony for the 2023 edition of the<\/strong> <strong><em>Transat Jacques Vabre<\/em> <\/strong>took place on January 30 at the Maison de l\u2019Oc\u00e9an in Paris: the official ceremony followed, approximately two months later, the individual awards held in November in Martinique, upon the arrival of the top three finishers in each class.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The event saw the presence of several French authorities, including the mayor of Le Havre (the starting city of the <em>Transat Jacques Vabre<\/em>), the director of the Martinique Tourism Authority, the regatta officials and the representatives of the main sponsors. The evening was attended by <strong>all the crews that made the podium in the four categories<\/strong> (Ocean Fifty, Ultim, IMOCA and Class40); for the sailors it was an opportunity to meet again and relive the most exciting moments of the crossing, and also to reflect objectively on their strategic choices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c<em>Over the last two <\/em>month\u201d, commented <strong>Alberto Bona, third overall in the Class40 category<\/strong> on board <em>IBSA<\/em>, together with Spanish co-skipper Pablo Santurde del Arco, \u201c<em>we had many debriefings with our top technicians, from sails to meteorology, and we analysed both the strong points and the areas where we can still improve.
