The document with the <em>Racing Instructions<\/em> of the <em>Transat CIC<\/em>, shared by the organisation last April 5, contains all the technical details integrating the <em>Avis de Course<\/em> (\u201cNotice of Race\u201d), i.e. the Notice of Regatta published in conjunction with the announcement of the 2024 edition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For Alberto Bona and the Class40<em> IBSA<\/em> the start is approaching: the regatta has been defined as \u201cmonumental\u201d, for both its <strong>historical value<\/strong> and the <strong>challenging route<\/strong>, as well as the <strong>extreme weather conditions<\/strong>, to which are added large differences in latitude compared to transoceanic regattas heading to the Caribbean, such as the <em>Route du Rhum<\/em> and the <em>Transat Jacques Vabre<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Among the most awaited items of the Racing Instructions are the specifications regarding the route, the start and the finish.<br>The race course will be a direct route between the starting line and the finishing line, without any mandatory waypoints, but with some marine protected areas for cetaceans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The starting line of the <em>Transat CIC<\/em> will be near the Kerroc\u2019h lighthouse, in the town of the same name opposite the island of Groix, in the Bay of Biscay. The finishing line, instead, will be located between two virtual waypoints located in New York Bay, and will be officially closed on Monday, May 20, at 1:45pm UTC (3:45pm CET). Only for the Vintage category \u2013 i.e. historic boats \u2013 there will be no finish line closure. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After crossing the finish line, the boats will moor in the New York and Newport marinas to await the awards ceremony, which will take place on Sunday, May 12, at 5:30pm local time (7:30pm CET) for the IMOCA class, and Wednesday, May 15, at 6:00pm for the Class40 and Vintage categories.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Among the various events that mark the stages leading up to a regatta, the publication of the Instructions de Course (\u201cRacing Instructions\u201d) takes everyone right into the heart of the pre-start.
