The first 24 hours of navigation after the start of the Transat Qu\u00e9bec Saint-Malo<\/em> were nothing less than formidable and spectacular. Optimal weather conditions and a good performance on the part of the Class40 IBSA<\/em> and Alberto Bona, together with his crewmates Pablo Santurde del Arco and Luca Rosetti<\/strong>. The three always knew how to stay on course and remain fast, while managing both the calm conditions and their direct opponents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 24 hours, IBSA<\/em> covered approximately 170 miles<\/strong>, with a fairly low average speed due to the unstable wind and the continuous changes in direction induced by the orography of the river, which in the narrowest parts required many manoeuvers. At 11:00 am on July 2 \u2013 Italian time \u2013 the Class40 IBSA<\/em> was sailing in seventh position, three miles behind the leader.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alberto recounted the first day of the regatta during a phase of little wind in the early hours of the Canadian morning: he was satisfied with having covered the complex part of the river with a good sporting performance: \u201cWe are very happy; the weather conditions were very good and allowed us to navigate well the most difficult stretch of the river. Now we will try to advance further within the fleet, maintaining the pace. The river was very challenging, but now the weather conditions are good, sunny and warm. We are not yet in the cold area, which will certainly require more energy\u201d<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
