After three intense years of navigation, competitions and achievements, the adventure of the Class40 IBSA<\/em> \u2013 led by ocean skipper Alberto Bona \u2013 comes to an end. Since 2022, IBSA<\/em> has crossed the Atlantic five times, participated in ten regattas and achieved significant milestones \u2013 including a first place in the 2023 Class40 championship and five podium placements in some of the world\u2019s most prestigious ocean races.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThey have been three thrilling years, filled with new challenges and adventures that brought <\/em>IBSA to the attention of a global audience. This sporting project allowed us to showcase ingenuity, courage, perseverance and passion\u201d<\/em>, announced Arturo Licenziati, President and CEO of IBSA. \u201cIt\u2019s been an extraordinary journey, one which told and promoted the core values we stand for <\/em>\u200b\u200b<\/em>together with Alberto Bona, whose vision and ability to transform every sporting challenge into a symbol of innovation, sustainability and personal growth has been greatly appreciated<\/em>\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The construction of the Class40 IBSA<\/em>, designed by Sam Manuard, started in February 2022, at the shipyard in La Trinit\u00e9-sur-Mer, France. The boat was then launched in August of the same year, and in October she debuted in the legendary Route du Rhum<\/em>, where Bona secured an eighth-place finish. In 2023, the skipper recorded the 24-hour speed record aboard a Class40 and capped off the season by winning the international championship of the class: an exceptional result that few Italians have achieved in a context dominated by French sailors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For Alberto and the Class40 IBSA<\/em>, 2024 has been the year of maturity: they returned to solo Atlantic sailing and competed in iconic regattas such as the Transat CIC<\/em> (from Lorient to New York) and the Quebec Saint-Malo<\/em>, concluding three years of adventures with a third place in the Normandy Channel Race<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
