D&rsquo;o\u00f9 la pr\u00e9dominance de l&rsquo;analyse m\u00e9t\u00e9o dans le jeu de strat\u00e9gie et repr\u00e9sente une une travers\u00e9e oc\u00e9anique. Ce sont des heures primordiales car ce sont les moments de la prise de d\u00e9cision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Comme beaucoup d&rsquo;\u00e9quipes, nous partirons avec un road book fourni par un expert m\u00e9t\u00e9orologue. Un road book est un document qui, \u00e0 partir de l&rsquo;analyse des derni\u00e8res pr\u00e9visions recueillies avant le d\u00e9part, indique une trajectoire optimale \u00e0 suivre ainsi que le timing des man\u0153uvres\u00a0: pour example combien d\u2019heures et de jours il faut naviguer sur ce cap, avec ce vent, puis de virer de bord tel jour \u00e0 telle heure avec un vent qui a tourn\u00e9 dans cette autre direction. Et ainsi de suite pratiquement jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 la ligne d&rsquo;arriv\u00e9e&#8230; <\/em>\u2013 commente Alberto Bona.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Si elle est fiable les 2 ou 3 premiers jours, la m\u00e9t\u00e9o est moins pr\u00e9cise au fil du temps, pr\u00e9cis\u00e9ment parce qu\u2019elles se basent sur des pr\u00e9visions qui se projettent trop loin et qui, par cons\u00e9quent, ne peuvent pas avoir la m\u00eame pr\u00e9cision. Pendant la r\u00e9gate, <strong>le travail \u00e0 la table \u00e0 cartes, c&rsquo;est-\u00e0-dire sur l&rsquo;ordinateur et ses programmes de routage<\/strong>, consiste \u00e0 comparer les conditions attendues avec celles observ\u00e9es, \u00e0 mettre \u00e0 jour les pr\u00e9visions en t\u00e9l\u00e9chargeant les derniers mod\u00e8les m\u00e9t\u00e9o via internet, et \u00e0 comparer les donn\u00e9es fournies par les diff\u00e9rents mod\u00e8les, car ils ne disent pas toujours la m\u00eame chose, comprendre l&rsquo;\u00e9volution g\u00e9n\u00e9rale des syst\u00e8mes pour adapter et corriger l&rsquo;itin\u00e9raire hypoth\u00e9tique propos\u00e9 dans le road book, dans le but d\u2019aller vite et toujours dans la bonne direction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Nous sommes proches du d\u00e9part et il semble d\u00e9sormais certain que les conditions seront difficiles d\u00e8s le d\u00e9part. Nous partirons avec un vent fort, au pr\u00e8s, et la mer sera tr\u00e8s form\u00e9e \u00e0 la sortie de la Manche et dans l&rsquo;Atlantique Nord. On sait aussi qu&rsquo;il y aura un premier front \u00e0 franchir. Dans les prochains bulletins nous essaierons de comprendre plus pr\u00e9cis\u00e9ment quand ce front passera et o\u00f9 nous devrions nous trouver \u00e0 ce moment<\/em> <em>pr\u00e9cis<\/em> \u2013 souligne le skipper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Une autre d\u00e9cision cl\u00e9 dans la strat\u00e9gie de course concerne les voiles. C&rsquo;est une d\u00e9cision importante qui sera prise par l&rsquo;\u00e9quipe IBSA moins de 48 heures avant le d\u00e9part, lorsqu\u2019on aura une id\u00e9e pr\u00e9cise du sc\u00e9nario m\u00e9t\u00e9o de cette Route du Rhum. Mais <strong>combien et quels types de voiles y a-t-il \u00e0 bord<\/strong> d&rsquo;un Class40 nouvelle g\u00e9n\u00e9ration comme le Class40 lBSA ?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Alberto Bona nous l&rsquo;explique:\u00a0<em>La jauge Class40 limite la hauteur de m\u00e2t et la surface de voilure \u00e0 115 m\u00e8tres carr\u00e9s au pr\u00e8s, avec grand-voile et solent. De plus, le nombre de voiles que nous pouvons avoir \u00e0 bord est limit\u00e9 \u00e0 huit. Nous avons <strong>la grand-voile<\/strong> qui est la principale, enti\u00e8rement latt\u00e9e et gr\u00e9\u00e9e sur la b\u00f4me, devant on a un g\u00eanois ou <strong>un solent<\/strong>, une trinquette plus petite et un tourmentin pour le vent fort. Ensuite pour les allures portantes, on a <strong>un gennaker<\/strong> mont\u00e9 sur emmagasineur, \u00e0 voir si on prendra le petit ou le grand. Et enfin <strong>trois spinnakers<\/strong>, nous choisirons lesquels embraquer en fonction des conditions m\u00e9t\u00e9o. Pour le Class40 IBSA, avec l\u2019architecte Sam Manuard et l&rsquo;\u00e9quipe nous nous sommes concentr\u00e9s sur la nouvelle car\u00e8ne am\u00e9lior\u00e9e, celle du Mach5, sans apporter de changements radicaux en ce qui concerne le plan de voilure. Donc pour les voiles, nous sommes rest\u00e9s sur des formes, des surfaces et des types de voiles d\u00e9j\u00e0 valid\u00e9s.
