Luca Rosetti

Born in 1995, Luca Rosetti was introduced to sailing through an Optimist course at the age of seven. Between 2005 and 2016, Luca specialised in the Laser class – even becoming a coach – and achieved numerous successes across various classes, including J22, J80, Tom 28, and Mini 650, which brought him closer to ocean racing.

After restoring an old prototype of the Mini class and participating in the 2019 Mini Transat, Luca moved to France in 2021 to pursue his goal of becoming a professional sailor and began campaigning for the 2023 Mini Transat. He participated in numerous solo and crewed races, including the 2022 Les Sables-Horta-Les Sables (third place), Leg 3 of the Globe 40 aboard a Class40 (second place), and the 2023 Mini Fastnet (third place).

In November 2023 – with an eighth place in the first stage and a victory in the second – Luca won the overall Mini Transat title, becoming the second Italian to win this prestigious competition.

Luca Rosetti was part of Alberto Bona’s crew for the Transat Québec Saint-Malo, the second transoceanic race of the 2024 Class40 IBSA’s season.
