Pablo Santurde del Arco

Born in 1987, Pablo Santurde del Arco is a highly experienced Spanish sailor.

Graduating from the University of Cantabria in Santander (Spain) with a degree in Maritime Transport and Nautical Trade, he was part of the Spanish pre-Olympic team aboard the 470 from 2005 to 2010. Between 2011 and 2013, he worked on the construction of the Class40 Tales II, designed by Botin, aboard which he served as boat captain from 2013 to 2016, accumulating over 50,000 nautical miles.

Pablo has participated in nine transatlantic races, earning podium finishes in some of the world’s most prestigious sailing events aboard Class40s, including: Transat Jacques Vabre (1st place in 2021, 3rd place in 2017, 2nd place in 2013); Rolex Fastnet Race (1st place in 2015, 2nd place in 2017 and 2013); Les Voiles de Saint Tropez (1st place in 2018 on the 15m JI); Normandy Channel Race (3rd place in 2021, 2nd place in 2019, 1st place in 2017) and Les Sables-Horta-Les Sables (1st place in 2017)

After participating in the construction of some TP52s and in several offshore and inshore sailings aboard various classes, Pablo joined Alberto Bona’s team in 2023, participating in all the Class40 Championship races. Immediately establishing a great harmony, the duo won the class champion title thanks to their first-place finishes in the RORC Caribbean 600 and in the Les Sables-Horta-Les Sables, as well as their third places in the Défi Atlantique and in the Transat Jacques Vabre. In 2024, Pablo returned aboard the Class40 IBSA, racing with Alberto Bona in the Transat Québec Saint-Malo as a crew member and in the double-handed Normandy Channel Race.
