Luke Berry

Born in 1986, Luke Berry is a French professional skipper, former owner of Lamotte-Module Création, the sister boat of the Class40 IBSA which waslaunched a few weeks before Alberto Bona’s craft.

Trained as a naval architect, Luke began his career on the Mini 6.50 circuit, where he raced for four years, culminating in his second place at the Mini Transat 2015 in the prototype category.Until 2018, Luke divided his time between his passion for the sea, sailing and windsurfing, and the role of commercial director of the HydrOcean company, to then decide to devote himself full-time to regattas and Class40s, first on board boat no. 153 and then of Lamotte-Module-Création.

At the 2022 Route du Rhum, Luke Berry was one of Alberto’s most fierce opponents, finishing the race in seventh position. His presence on board the Class40 IBSA in the first runs and in the first regatta of the 2023 season is very important, as it allows the two skippers to make a thoroughly finetuning of the craft, thanks to the different but similar experience they gained in recent years.

In the second part of the season, Berry will leave the Class40 to devote himself to catamarans.
