Pietro Luciani

A real Venetian born in 1985 and with a formidable prize record in Class40 – and not only – Pietro Luciani is the third member of the crew selected by Alberto Bona to participate in the 2023 Défi Atlantique.

Architect by training, Pietro has been a professional navigator since 2015. In addition to having participated in the most important regattas on the world sailing calendar, he won the RORC Caribbean 600 in Class40 in 2018 and 2019 and the Class40 Championship in 2019 and 2022.

He then arrived second at the 2019 Normandy Channel Race (in crew with Pablo Santurde del Arco), at the Rolex Fastnet Race 2017 and at the last edition of the Défi Atlantique, in 2019.

Since 2021, Pietro Luciani has also held the role of vice president of the Classe40 – the only Italian among his French peers – with the aim of bringing the Class40 regattas to the Mediterranean as well, expanding the calendar of events and extending navigation even beyond the ocean.
