The Class40 IBSA returns to base

21 December 2023

On Sunday, December 17, the Class40 IBSA arrived in La Trinité-sur-Mer, Brittany, from Fort de France, Martinique. In addition to boat captain Pierre Regaud, IBSA was also navigated by French sailor Didier Le Vourch and the last winner of the Mini Transat, Luca Rosetti, who had been engaged  by Alberto Bona in order for him to familiarise himself with the Class40 IBSA in view of his possible entry into the team, starting next season.

The Class40 IBSA left Fort de France on December 3, just over a week after the conclusion of the Transat Jacques Vabre, which ended with a brilliant third place that earned Alberto the title of international champion of the class. The return crossing was characterised by excellent weather conditions, which allowed the crew to sail safely, primarily preserving the conditions of the craft and reaching IBSA’s base in 14 days.

Now the Class40a IBSA has a well-deserved period of rest ahead of her: the boat will enter the shipyard for a complete overhaul, following the over 15,000 miles covered in 2023, to be ready to face a challenging 2024 season.
